Fundraising

Due to the dangerous conditions in Haiti, we cannot invite you to join us on a mission trip at the moment. However, there are still many hands-on ways that you can get involved  and make an impact! Below is a list of 8 tried-and-true fundraising ideas with a short description of each. Feel free to reach out to us for more details about any of these!
1. Painting Class
Are you an artist? You can use your talents to help LTLTMI! Host a painting class where you teach the attendees to paint something. You will need to provide paints, paper plates for the paints, brushes, canvases, and  easels. Each attendee pays $30. The profit from each attendee is approx. $20, and that money can be sent to Haiti!
2. Local Business Fundraisers
Ask around at various businesses in your area to see if they do fundraisers. Some chain restaurants give a percentage of profits for a certain day, others allow you to keep a percentage of money made selling their gift cards; some pottery painting places will teach a class and give you a percentage of the proceeds. These are all simple ways to do fundraisers. Simply advertise what is going on, that it is for LTLTMI, and when and where people need to go.
3. Chocolate/Candy Sales
You can purchase bulk candy bars or make chocolates using candy molds and sell them after church. This is a great way for children to help.
4. Bulk Store Fundraiser
Ask a business such as Sam's Club, Walmart, or Costco, sell doughnuts or candy bars outside the store. This must be set up with the business, but can be pre-scheduled to be monthly or bi-monthly. Have information cards to pass out and a sign reading “Loving the Least of These Ministries International: Educating, Equipping, and Empowering the street children of Haiti”
5. Youth Talent Show
    & Dessert Auction
Are you involved with your church’s youth group, or do you know who is? This event is not difficult to set up, is so much fun for the youth and attendees, and is a great way to raise money for Haiti. Set a date for the talent show. Have the youth sign up to show off their talent - singing, dancing, telling jokes, playing an instrument, acting - and audition. Announce to your church that you will be holding this event and ask if anyone is willing to bake something for the dessert auction, and have a sign-up sheet ready for them. Have the youth practice, choose the admission fee, hold the talent show and dessert auction, and send proceeds to Loving The Least of These! This is a great way to get the youth involved and excited about missions and see that they can help in a hands-on way.
6. Youth Group Car Wash
Get the youth out one summer Saturday to wash cars in your church parking lot, or perhaps another space you know about. Announce it on your church sign and have a couple of the students out front holding “Car Wash” signs. You will need to supply car wash materials, and teach the kids the importance of using clean water and clean rags so they don’t scratch people’s vehicles. My suggestion is to keep this donation-based, rather than setting a price. I’ve never seen anyone give less than $5, and many generous donations will surprise you. If you have a shady area in the parking lot, you can also have a bake sale at the same time. Be sure to include coolers of cold drinks if it’s a hot day.

7. Craft/Hobby Sales
Do you work with wood, resin, threads, yarn, instruments, paper, paints, fabrics, etc., and create things that people would purchase? You could create an Etsy store, or just sell locally or on your social media or at craft shows, and donate a percentage of your earnings to LTLTMI!
8. Church/Community Yard Sale
People can rent a parking space for $10. They bring their own tables and yard sale things and sell at whatever price they want. They get to keep their proceeds, and LTLT gets the $10 per space. You can also give people an option of donating things that you sell and give proceeds to LTLTMI.
