Darin and Tonya served in full-time missionary service in Haiti beginning in early 2013. They oversaw various construction needs throughout the country - schools, homes, medical clinics, and churches.  The Kuceys also managed a large guest house, welcoming mission teams from several countries including the USA, Canada, and parts of the Caribbean.  During their first years of living in Haiti, the Kuceys increasingly noted some of the thousands of children and youth living and dying on the streets of Haiti.  A growing burden developed in their hearts to see these children rescued, redeemed, restored experiencing radical transformation for themselves and their country. Thus, a vision was birthed for “Loving the Least of These Ministries International,” and in 2018, the Kuceys officially changed their focus from building buildings to building lives.

They started a feeding program for street boys, which has since grown to include a a school, a children's program, and juvenile prison ministry. In 2020, the Kuceys launched the SWAG School (Saved with Amazing Grace), which helps to provide these street children and youth with a Christ-centred education along with personalized academic support specific to their individual needs.

Meet the Founders

Rev. Tonya & Darin Kucey

Tonya is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene who served as a pastor in Nova Scotia, Canada, for 8 years. In addition to her pastoral role, she also served as the Canadian Representative on a Global Missions Board from 2007-2012. During this same time frame, she was able to act as both a Team Coordinator and Field Coordinator for short term mission trips to areas in Canada, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Darin was involved in the IT industry for over 25 years in various capacities including, program development, consulting, teaching, project management, hardware, and software development as well as business owner. Unfortunately, the Kuceys had to leave Haiti in 2018 due to cancer found in Darin. He fought hard for five years before going to meet his Savior who he loved so much face-to-face in March of 2022.

Please pray for Pastor Tonya as she continues to commit herself to fulfilling God’s call to help equip, educate, and empower Haitians to break the cycle of poverty and experience their full potential in Christ.
