Co-Founders and President

Darin and Tonya served in full time missionary service in Haiti since early 2013 overseeing various construction needs throughout the country, schools, homes, medical clinics, and churches.  The Kuceys also managed a large Guest House, welcoming mission teams from several countries including the USA, Canada, and parts of the Caribbean.  During their years of living in Haiti, the Kuceys increasingly noted some of the thousands of children and youth living and dying on the streets of Haiti.  A growing burden developed in their hearts to see these children rescued, redeemed, restored experiencing radical transformation for themselves and their country. Thus, a vision was birthed for, “Loving the Least of These Ministries International” and in 2018 the Kuceys officially changed their focus from building buildings to building lives.

The Kuceys were soon thereafter entrusted by the Haitian government to care for 14 abandoned children ranging from 2 to 14 years of age. The House of Hope quickly became a place of refuge allowing these children to have their daily needs met in a safe family environment. Within a year, the Kuceys also started a feeding program for street boys which has since grown to include a Drop-in Centre called, “Richard’s Refuge”, where street boys can obtain nutritional meals, participate in Bible Studies as well as spiritual discipleship programs, life-skills mentoring, educational classes, job training, counselling, and family reunification support. In 2020, the Kuceys launched the SWAG School (Saved with Amazing Grace) which helps to provide these street children and youth with a Christ-centred education along with personalized academic support specific to their individual needs.

Tonya is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene serving as pastor in Nova Scotia, Canada, for 8 years. In addition to her pastoral role, she also served as the Canadian Representative on a Global Missions Board from 2007-2012. During this same time frame, she was able to act as both a Team Co-ordinator and Field Co-ordinator for short term mission trips to areas in Canada, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Darin has been involved in the IT industry for over 25 years in various capacities including, program development, consulting, teaching, project management, hardware, and software development as well as business owner.

Please pray for the Kuceys as they commit themselves to fulfilling God’s call to help equip, educate, and empower Haitians to break the cycle of poverty and experience their full potential in Christ.
